Artist Statement

The title, “Long Distance Calls” is a »metaphor« that crossed my mind in connection with my solo exhibition. It is about moving away and getting closer, about losses and discoveries, about priorities and revaluation of values, about expectations linked with both sorrow and joy, about discovering and revealing layers... about unexpected challenges and searching for oneself... It is also about dreams, stars and dreams that become real... The title also refers to nostalgia for home and moving forward at any price. It is also about encouragement and new challenges we have to face. I often had to tell myself: Cheer up, life goes on, don´t give up!!! The exhibition Long Distance calls also represents a dialogue between me and my father and it can be regarded as our joint project.
